The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
I didn't watch the first Hobbit film, but G's parents fancied going to see this in 3D between Christmas and New Year, so we did. And I have to say, it was actually quite good fun if you like that sort of thing. The dragon was smashing and rather pretty. There were rollicking action scenes and some silly jokes and judicious application of Stephen Fry. All in all, not a bad thing to see in the quiet zone between Christmas and New Year for a bit of a laugh. But it did rather reinforce the fact that I have no particular desire to see the first part.
