I think any essentialising stuff kind of went over my head after the egregious class and race fail, to be honest - I'm sure it's there, but maybe I have a slightly higher tolerance for it in stuff talking about giving birth. (Which doesn't mean it's OK there, just that I'm socially conditioned to give it a bit more of a pass than I otherwise might.)
