The Pirates in an Adventure with Scientists
Not much to say about this apart from that it is very silly, and I rather loved the idea of Queen Victoria as a sword-wielding martial arts expert. Who wouldn't? Plus Hugh Grant does a great pirate captain with all the beard and so on.
It's a children's film but there are some nice jokes in there, and the credits reel was clearly put together under the 'having too much fun' principle. The skill in putting the Claymation stuff together is also really quite impressive. There's also a Dodo. I have no idea whether there's going to be another one, but it was quite cheering - not least because 'Surprisingly Curvaceous Pirate' never actually got outed as a girl, despite a close shave in a bathtub.
How much you will enjoy this will depend on how young you are at heart and your natural silliness index. Unsurprisingly, I had a good giggle.
