Hot Fuzz is a massive favourite of mine, and, yes, there is a lot more to be gained from it if you're sufficiently familiar with the genre(s) it pastiches, bith in terms of simple homage-spotting (even managing to use the swan plot to bring an 'Aliens' reference into the finale), nnd in some somewhat cleverer explorations of recurrent themes and paradigms.
