I think this approach feeds into some of my issues with anti-formalised-education types. It's clear that hierarchies have a detrimental effect on education, but many of the non-hiererchical approaches seem very short on ideas about how to educate people accurately and thoroughly to useful standards without having any kind of formal means for recognising those standards.
