Good citizen blurb - The Dorset Wildlife Trust is running a charity internet auction on Ebay of drawings by celebrities. There are 90 items so far; the start date was 7.00pm Sunday 10 December with a drawing by Lord Melvyn Bragg. The auction will probably run until mid February and its success depends on publicity – clearly the more people who know about the auction, the more potential bidders the Trust has. You can find the Ebay current items for sale page here - they did a similar thing last year, and some rather good things went for not very much money at all, so it's a good place to look for a possible enhancement to your own art collection at a very reasonable price. If you have a particular celeb you'd like to know about, the list of contributors is on the Trust's blog. (Ned Sherrin's contribution, up there now, is actually quite good, all things considered.)

At the weekend, [livejournal.com profile] the_g_man and I made an important discovery - in a long-forgotten war, which ran into many pages of newsprint and over which much bile was vented, we stood on opposite sides of the divide. Admittedly, it was rather through coincidence rather than any strongly felt opinion, but differ on this fundamental question we did.

He was a Blurite, I preferred Oasis.

[Poll #886658]

Funny how no-one remembers these things any more.
